Robins & Morton Celebrates Topping Out of University of Kentucky King’s Daughters Expansion and Renovation

ASHLAND, KY — Construction firm Robins & Morton celebrated the topping out of the University of Kentucky King’s Daughters expansion and renovation project in Ashland, Kentucky.

The topping out ceremony represents an important milestone with the placement of the final steel beam, signifying the structural completion of the project.

The 210,000-square-foot patient tower will feature emergency and imaging departments. The tower will add more than 75 exam rooms and/or treatment spaces, including rooms designed for treating patient specialty care needs. It will also include a separate, covered ambulance entrance with triage bays, private behavioral health patient entrances and treatment areas, and a new hospital main entrance and lobby to connect multiple areas of the medical center.

“As we mark this significant milestone and work toward the completion of this project, we remain dedicated to executing with excellence, mindful of the impact this expansion and renovation will have on enhancing health care delivery in the region,” Robins & Morton Operations Manager Marshall Scott said. “Our team is excited to bring this project to life, knowing it will have a lasting, positive impact on our community for many years to come.”

The project is scheduled for completion in 2025. Robins & Morton is the general contractor. ESa is the architect.
