Roncelli Hits the Turf to Raise Funds for Crohn's & Colitis Foundation

DETROIT, MI — Roncelli recently took to the field at Ford Field for the annual A Touch of Football event. As a Coach Sponsor, Roncelli joined forces with over 30 other teams, 465 players, all rallying behind the cause of combating Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis and improving the quality of life of children and adults affected by the diseases.

The morning started with a speech given by the Jacobs family, who have a son, Matthias, who is a patient at the age of 12 years old. As a direct result of fundraisers like A Touch of Football, Matthias received a scholarship to attend Camp Oasis, a week-long, 24-hour medically supervised camp for kids with Crohn’s disease or ulcerative colitis. Camp Oasis is put on by the Crohn's & Colitis Foundation, a nonprofit volunteer-fueled organization that commits 80 cents of every dollar toward research, patient education, and support.

Amongst the backdrop of the Detroit Lions’ stadium and 700 spectators, Roncelli’s team, made up of Roncelli employees, embraced the opportunity to have fun and attempt to showcase some skills while contributing to the mission. The Roncelli team ended up losing to a team made up of employees from one of Roncelli’s clients.

The A Touch of Football event was ultimately about coming together for a cause and making a positive impact in the community. The event raised $172,000 for the Crohn's & Colitis Foundation.
